| I sort of started to feel nostalgic for xanga today. Just for a moment, but long enough to make me pay a quick visit and post. What is going on in my life? A whole lot of nothing productive right now, that's what. I'm looking for two jobs right now: a summer one and a permanent one. I'm eating lunch out a whole lot. I got my wedding dress the other day. That's pretty exciting. What else can I say? Chris and I are living in the same city for the first time since I was fourteen (and at that point I didn't care whether or not we lived near each other). It can't get much better than that. | | |
| Okay, it is a fact: Chris and I are engaged. Here is what happened for those of you who requested details: We were walking around in Parc des Buttes Chaumonts in Paris. He said, "I have a question," and after a very long pause, "Will you marry me?" I said,"Of course," and pretty much jumped on him. He gave me my ring, which is perfect, by the way. At that point, we were both smiling like drunkards, and my legs ceased to be able to work. So we went and sat down for a while. And that's how it happened! Nothing hokey or weird, but just very nice.
We have not set a date yet; it will probably be easier to decide all of that once we're back in the States and can talk to our parents and I know where I'll be working. But for now, probably around Christmas. I'll keep you posted! | | |
| So I'm giving in a posting on xanga for once. I've been posting on www.noverb.com, but as I cannot post pictures yet, it isn't any more exciting than xanga. Once Ramstein American High School gets it together and gives me a school e-mail address, I should be able to at least e-mail pictures, if not post them. School is going well; I've been able to do a little traveling with my roommate and neighbors. Ugh, I don't even know how to explain everything that has been going on. It is been good, bad, scary, fun, etc. I miss you all.

| My class is finished; the last load of laundry is in the dryer; my bags are packed; most of my goodbyes have been said. I am leaving for the airport in two hours. I am moving to Germany. Yikes.
I feel like I made kind of an uninformed decision to go to Germany, as I did not know 8 months ago what my life would be like now. But when I look back on it, I know I would have made the same decision anyway; it just doesn't make it any easier to actually leave.
I will miss all of you (unless someone I don't know is reading this. I don't know about you; therefore, I cannot miss you). E-mail me with your address if you want a postcard. I will be updating soon to let you know where you can access news and pictures. Goodbye! | | |
